Allocasuarina verticillata - Drooping sheoak
 
A medium sized tree, occurring over a wide variety of soil types. Fast growing with a dense rounded crown and graceful drooping grey green foliage when mature. Male and female are on separate plants. Prefers an open sunny position in well drained soils. Drought tolerant, provides dense shade and is a useful windbreak. The branchlets will sigh, whistle and whisper to you on windy days.
